About Us.

Tim and I met at dog obedience school in Port Macquarie in late 1982 when we were both attempting to train our German Shepherds. The dogs went on to CD level and we ended up married. Two children later - Rebecca and Emma - we knew why we needed the obedience training - to tame unruly children! and I hope all who meet our gorgeous girls can see how well the training worked! We continued to show and breed GSD for a few more years until Rebecca decided she wanted to join in for junior handlers. As her first choice was a poodle and this Mum was NOT going to groom one of them, I went looking for a suitable small dog that would be wash and wear, good with kids and able to play as rough as my GSD's without too many vet costs! A trip to a local dog show just north of home led to my meeting Shilo, Ch Missionviews Shilo of Kelmark, the first registered Toller in Australia. One look at those big brown eyes and I was hooked so we ended up buying his son Ch Kelmark Fox O'Fundy -Halifax-who became Bec's best mate. 2 months of living with Hali  convinced us that here was the sort of dog we could live with into old age - only 1 lap around the ring not 5 and no weight lifting to put him in the bath or vet's table. We contacted an English breeder who agreed to send us our first imported dog CH Lyonhouse Agnes (imp UK) in whelp to Lyonhouse Alexander Stuart. We had just enough money at the time to buy a new kitchen for our house in construction or buy the dog. As all good breeders do we bought the dog, named them for the missing kitchen and Tollers came to be the breed of choice for Kirchoff. Since those early days, we have been to Canada twice for the national specialties in 1995 and 1999 and both times ended up with an imported treasure a few years after the visit. Our first Canadian Boy was Blue, Can/Aus Ch Berdia True Blue to Kirchoff WC NRD bred by Bernie and Dianne Barber and lovingly raised and trained by Donna La Haise until he left to come here. Our Canadian girl is Rusti -Dragonluck Irrisistible Rusty who arrived in September 2002 from Dawn O'Leary and Judy Argue. She now lives in Sydney with Robyn Jones where she can do agility every week.
