BIS BPISS Can/Aus Gr Ch Berdia True Blue to Kirchoff WC NRD
29.2.96 -25.8.08
Unfortunately age and cancer finally took it's toll on our boy and he died on 25.8.08. Our world is much quieter for his passing and we miss his larger than life presence. His children and grandchildren are spread throughout the western world and one day we hope to have another litter of tiny blues from semen currently in storage. Blue has taught us so much about tollers that we find it hard to know where to begin in his achievements both academic and personal!! His ashes are scattered with the other dogs that he was brought up with and played with and he will live on in our hearts.
Blue finally got to his showing goal of 1000 challenge points including 2 Best in shows and now has his Grand Championship. He has finally slowed up a little and will now snooze a little later of a morning. He has had many adventures in his lifetime and finally added falling into the septic while demonstrating his best backward heeling and dancing maneuvers. Fortunately we still had time to bath him to present him for his last show and his final Gr Ch. point. All that "fertilising" must have done him good.!!
Blue was born a leap year baby and has been leaping at life ever since. At 4 months he had that 'bird thing' working and at 7months and 2days became the youngest Toller in Canada to gain a working certificate ( His record has since been broken but stood for some time). He spent his early life being trained by Donna La Haise and dividing his living hours between Donna and breeder Bernie Barber. He spent some time hunting with Bernie and other days got spruced up and went off showing with Donna to end up with his Canadian championship prior to leaving age 10months to come to Australia. After a month in quarantine where he bounced and chatted to all who would call in to see him, he came home to us. Having started life as a record breaker he has continued this trend becoming the first Best in Show winning Toller ( twice) at age 5 and now can add his NRD to his WC. He has passed on his 'bounce' attitude to life to his many kids and grandkids while continue to surprise us with his many antics but his favourite pastime is leaping up on the bed at night for his bedtime cuddle and telling us all about his day with his delightful 'woo-woo-woo' chatting.
And just when we thought there would never be another Blue along came his son
Duke who is the 'spitting image'. Duke lives at Fionavar Kennels.
